We're Always Interested in Publishing New Material
At Pioneer Drama Service, our editors are constantly on the look out for
new plays. As a full-service theatre publishing company, our needs fall into
a number of areas. A thorough tour of this website will give you a hint as
to the scope of our catalog.
If you are interested in submitting your material, we suggest that
you first send a Query Letter to our Post Office Box (below) or
via E-Mail
to see if your play meets the current needs of our market.
|
When submitting a play, we ask you to follow these guidelines: |
- All plays must be unpublished and should be accompanied by proof of production
(e.g., programs, reviews). Since new plays are created for the purpose of
production, it is the feeling of the editors that new plays must have this
fundamental "field test" before we considering offering them to our
customers.
- Plays may be of any length up to 90 minutes and may be on any subject.
However, subject matter and language must be appropriate for schools and
family-oriented theatre. Due to the needs of many producing organizations,
productions favoring female roles and having minimal set requirements
stand a better chance of success.
- Plays must be accompanied by the following:
- Synopsis/Description
- Cast List and Breakdown (i.e. 5M, 6W)
- Running Time
- Set Design
- Prop List
- Recording of Music (when applicable)
